Terraces for modern houses

It's a beautiful summer morning. It is 7 o'clock, you wake up and look outside the window, to see the rising sun and enjoy its warmth. Do you feel that you could enjoy a cup of coffee on your terrace, to start the day in a happy mood? When we picture the perfect house, we see it with a large terrace. How could it be otherwise, if this is the perfect place for relaxation, close to nature, yet with all the comfort you need?

Known as sharing spaces, our terraces become personal retreats during summer: an area to review our thoughts for the upcoming day and an area for closing your day with relaxation. Even barbecues and summer dinners are more charming enjoyed with friends on the terrace. Of course, the landscape of our terrace has a huge impact on our ambience.

For this reason, here are some house terraces as inspiration for your relaxation space.

Rustic Terrace

Does your house have a traditional design? Do you prefer sallow, natural, rustic colors for your exterior finishes? If so, then you should match them to the shades and materials used for designing your house.

Our rustic terrace has lots of reddish shades. For example, you can use a polygonal red sandstone paving for a visual impact and a natural, raw ambience. This type of stone is installed with joints and is suitable for both walls and flooring, with different adhesives for maintaining its initial appearance. Rustic White / Brown Polygonal Limestone also adds an ambience to your rustic terrace, with brown and coffee shades, apart from their bulky shape and durability against freeze-thaw cycles. This is able to convey a traditional, yet contemporary air, based on your preference.

Modern Terrace

A modern, minimalist, high-tech design of your home needs to be filled with a terrace to match. For this purpose, natural stone includes all the features you need: it is modern, robust, yet very durable. Being a natural material, you are able to select your stone items from a virtually limitless color range, for matching with any design of your home.

Rock Face Marble is a very influencing choice in terms of visual, for both walls and flooring. The result is a Mediterranean-modern natural stone flooring easy to match with the shades already decided for the exterior finishes. Rhodos polygonal slate is an excellent choice as material for the terrace of a modern home thanks to its open, warm shades, associated to the modern trends of terraces in terms of design.

Vintage Terrace

Another tendency more popular for terrace design includes using tumbled elements for creating a vintage look. Thus, by vintage, we mean not only an ancient, old shade but a genuine, original and raw touch.

So, we recommend Kavala slate for your terrace, which can be used for both paving and façade. Its polygonal sides will refresh the look, bringing a raw, yet stylish air to any terrace. Also, the polygonal Green Laguna slate conveys a vintage touch, through its appealing shades and shapes – tiles are available in small and medium sizes, allowing more freedom of composition.
